Ever wonder what equipment some of your favourite video creators use to create their content? I spoke to seven such video creators about their setup. This week’s JOJCAST is proof that you don’t need the biggest and best equipment, you just have to use what you have in a thoughtful manner.

For lots of people the idea of creating and sharing original videos on the Internet can seem a curious pasttime. So you can only begin to imagine their bemusement to learn about videomakers coming together from all over the world to meet up face-to-face. This week we ask the question: Why gather? Why YouTube Gatherings?

This isn’t really how I wanted to start the JOJCAST in 2010 but I kind of feel like this is the place where a lot of conversations happen that really don’t happen anywhere else. A lot of the people I’ve interviewed over the years have been very candid about the stuff they experience in their video creation. I kind of feel like I want to get this out of my system so I can put it behind me and move on. So please indulge today, I’m just going to talk about something that’s going on with me and next week we’re going to return to more regular programming…

This is actually the very last JOJCAST for 2009. I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the year that was, what it was like for me as a video creator, and thank some of the people who made it such a great year for me personally.

This week we talk to TheAussieNinja (Carlo) about his recent trip to America – including a stateside Halloween, pumpkin carving and visiting Disneyland, doing Vlogtober and some of the more ’social’ aspects of sharing your life via YouTube.

Last week we spoke to Robofillet on the JOJCAST. Every now and then you’ll find somebody who doesn’t just have an audience, but rather who has an entourage. You won’t believe the questions I was sent to ask him.

This week I talk to popular Australian YouTuber RoboFillet (Rohan) about his early beginnings on YouTube, the Poultry Press, visiting Peru, and riding camels! No, really.

This week sees the return of a very good friend of THE JOJCAST. Indeed, the man who appeared alongside me on the very first episode! I talk to MG Phenom (Matt Elwood), about being part of Podpocalypse, ‘Anti-Blogging’ and the annual terror I like to call “NaNoWriMo.”

This week we talk to QiRanger (Steve) about being an “Englishee Teacher” in Korea, using technology to connect and teach, and the opportunities that have arisen from sharing his life with the world via YouTube.

This week we talk to Jake Garrison (Karpadiem) about his seven month absence from YouTube, the pressures and perks of the YouTube Partner Program, as well as broken bones and the state of the US Health Care system.
