A little off the beaten path for us, we’re actually turning our eyes toward Hollywood and traditional media.

For the past few weeks a fan movement has taken up the cause of forcing the studios hand. Lead by Los Angeles comedian Sax Carr, the Allisonscag4cassie movement has been lighting fires on twitter. And now this video has emerged

Carr speaks up about why this movie, this actor and why Hollywood needs to start listening to it’s audience and not it’s wallet. Movies are failing not because the recession is happening, or because the internet is stealing it’s audience. Yes those things are factors, but the biggest reason movies are failing is because Hollywood is banking on the same formula over and over again.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Dear Hollywood, you can’t just make everything 3D, throw a hot chick (who can’t act) on the screen and expect us to shell out dollars hand over fist.

People want quality, and even more they want to be heard. The reason so many internet superstars are now giving traditional media a run for the money is because they have instant communication with their audience, and they listen.

The video only went up this morning and there’s already been pages and pages of retweets for this movement.

Ironically the goal of the movement is to make #AllisonScag4Cassie a trending topic on twitter Tomorrow looks like it might even happen ahead of schedule! Good luck to the geekdom.
